Simon Hoare MP Calls For Continued Reduction in Beer Duty

I have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer calling for a 1p reduction on beer duty ahead of the upcoming Budget in March, as has been seen for the last three years.

Pubs and breweries are crucial to our communities and play a particularly important role in rural areas such as North Dorset.  In my constituency alone, we have 86 pubs and 5 breweries which are cumulatively responsible for 1,134 direct jobs, including 476 direct jobs for 16-24 year olds.

The action already taken by the Government shows its commitment to the retail and hospitality sectors, and I know that continued support would be welcome across my constituency.
